The processing time calculation programme is a convenient instrument designed by our technicians to offer site users the possibility of calculating approximate piece processing times with REV tools.
Cutting speed and the increment of each stroke essentially depend on the type of material to be processed and cutting conditions.
Based on what type of material is selected, the processing time calculation programme will suggest cutting speed and increments.
In terms of programme operation, we will look at two cases, by way of example.
The first case, called "example 1", refers to simple keyway seat processing.
In this case it is very important to provide the width of the insert, in addition to the diameter of the internal hole. Accordingly, the system will be able to calculate the processing time, taking into account the clearance between the flat section of the insert and the hole diameter.
In the specific case illustrated in the figure, 1 will be entered in the "number of operations" field, as only one keyway operation will be executed.
The second case, called "example 2", illustrates the execution of an internal grooved profile.
In this case it is always necessary to enter 0 in the "insert width" field as the end of the insert is radial and there is no clearance between insert and hole diameter.
In the specific case illustrated in the figure, the "number of operations" will be 20, as 20 teeth need to be processed.
The estimated values generated by the calculator are approximate and only provide a rough indication of the processing times.
The programme can only be used with the following browsers:
